A room up to about 120 sq ft usually needs 1.0 HP, up to about 180 sq ft needs 1.5 HP, and up to about 250 sq ft needs 2.0 HP. Afternoon sun, ceiling height and the number of people change the size, so we confirm it on site.
Air and moisture left in the pipes mix with the refrigerant and reduce cooling. Over time they damage the compressor. A vacuum pump removes both before we open the gas valves.
Decide which wall the indoor unit goes on and where the outdoor unit will sit. Clear the area around both spots and check there is a free circuit at the DB box.
